Palisade Peach – Unofficial State Fruit of Colorado

The official state fruit of Colorado is the famous Palisade Peach.

Known for its extra delicious flavor, the Palisade Peach is truly one of the sweetest parts of Colorado.

In fact, the fruit is so popular it even has its own Palisade Peach Festival.

Why Are Palisade Peaches So Sweett

Palisade Peaches get their extra sweet flavor from the dramatic temprature swings along the Western Slope of Colorado. The dramatic fluctuation in mid-day/night temperatures causes the Palisade Peaches and other local fruits to produce more natural sugars than in a stable climate like the State of Gorgia.

The Western Slope of Colorado is covered with Fruit Orchards including Apples, Cherries, Apricots, and obviously Peaches.

Where is Palisade Colorado

The Town of Palisade is located east of Grand Junction along I-70 next to the Colorado River.
